Urban Outlaw Documentary

Check out this really rad doc directed by Tamir Moscovici about Magnus Walker. The rebel Porsche customizer who turned a hobby into an obsession, and an obsession into a successful business. "From a workshop in downtown Los Angeles, Magnus obsessively harvests fragments from donor 911s, grafting them onto vintage frames to create one-off automobiles with the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche but an ethos entirely his own." The documentary is about half an hour long so you might want to grab a popcorn. Enjoy.

Featured 'Fit: Home for the Holidays

Young out-of-state transplant, this edition of Featured 'Fit goes out to you! Here we are in the last full business week before holiday vacays kick in. Time needs to chill TFO. You have to get your workload handled, H-A-N-D-L-E-D before you can get away until the new year. Getting out of town might not be a piece of cake either, airports will be packed and this pre-holiday weekend will also be packed full of festivities as well. Your get-out-of-town game plan will need the following: (1.) a bag big enough to pack gifts, cards and your own belongings, (2.) a weather resistant jacket as many states will be facing rain or snow later this week and you will need to keep warm if you're trying to function, (3.) a mature yet casual set of clothes for the gatherings ahead because hey you might be a young adult but you're also a real dude that doesn't want to look like his dad, and finally (4.) a comfortable set of kicks because you will be running around all over trying to get shit done! My suggestion get your stuff packed in a Washburn Bag, make sure to pack a Prescott button-up and a set of V56 Standard/AV Covina Pants for those Saturday night parties and throw on a Vance jacket because it's going to be hella cold man, can't get sick on vacation! Put on a pair of Alomars and get your ass to the airport. Fun awaits!

INSA Gifs

Artist and designer INSA together with another artist Stanley Donwood did a collaborative project called "Hollywood Dooom".  They had to go over the walls four times to create the frames for the animation. Here is what INSA said about the process: "My challenge was to take two very static items, a beautiful lino-cut and a less beautiful box of a building, and bring them to life. After a week of sweating in the Los Angeles late summer sun re-painting the whole building several times I got there. Animated as a continuous GIF it may only live online but some would argue that is where most now live there lives…" While INSA was at it he also did some more GIFs of his other works. Peep more beyond the fold.

Vans OTW x Lupe Fiasco Stovepipe Available Now!

The Vans OTW Collection proudly presents Advocate Lupe Fiasco’s signature Stovepipe colorway this holiday season. Fiasco’s inspiration for this project references ‘90s hip-hop culture and fashion, an aesthetic he refers to as “Native Tongues”. The Grammy-award winning emcee integrates retro patterns and color schemes from the era into the design of the Stovepipe; the pattern utilized on the canvas tongue takes visual cues from native cultures and is a blend of African and Native American prints while the rest of the shoe is crafted in leather from ankle wrap to toe vamp in an all-black form that is contrasted by a bright hit of color at the outsole. The “Native Tongue” canvas is also used to construct a premium drawstring backpack that comes with each pair of the Stovepipe. Finished off with custom Lupe Fiasco branding and packaged with deluxe shoe box artwork, the Vans OTW x Lupe Fiasco Stovepipe is now available at select Vans OTW Collection retailers. More images after the jump!

Throwback Thursday: Style Wars (1983 graffiti documentary)

Taking it back, waaay back for this edition of Throwback Thursday. We're going back to 1983 to be exact for "Style Wars", a documentary focused on graffiti that also covered bboying and the emerging hip hop scene of New York. This 70-minute film takes all views on these various segments of street culture into account, getting insights from officials like then NYC Mayor Ed Koch and police officers to key individuals in the breakdancing and street art from the era.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis x NPR Tiny Desk Concert

It's been a phenomenal year for the duo of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Currently on The Heist world tour, they've rocked stages from London to LA over the past few months with Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand dates in the near future. The two-some rocked their tiniest stage yet for NPR's Tiny Desk Concert, with "Same Love", "Thift Shop" and (my personal favorite) "Can't Hold Us Down" on the set list. There is no holding them down, cheers guys.
