After months of anticipation, the Primitive x Vans OTW Bedford will be available in-store and online this Saturday, September 1, at Primitive! Our friends at the shop are throwing a party tomorrow at their Encino location in honor of their 4 year anniversary and in celebration of the collaboration's release. So Cal crowd make your way to 17060 Ventura Blvd. in Encino from 1 to 6 pm tomorrow to celebrate with the Primitive crew. I recently headed over to the Lyricist Lounge show on the LES of Manhattan. It was a beautiful day outside to hear some good music.

To start the show off DJ Enuff was keeping the crowd hyped as the main acts were getting ready for the show. Enuff got on the mic and said, “ I'm not going to play anything that you hear on the radio. I'm only playing break beats and classics.”

Bonneville Speedweek Photographs

Photographer Simon Davidson captures high-speed enthusiasts from all over the world on a 5-mile course in Utah’s 36,650 acre dry salt lake at the 64th annual Bonneville Speedweek. The photos look quite ethereal and maybe a little unreal thanks to the white wash of a background of Dry Salt Lake and beautiful custom cars and bikes. Check out more photos beyond the fold.

NightFall

"NightFall" is a stunning three minute long time lapse video that captures Los Angeles as it transitioned from day to night created by Colin Rich. The video captures the daily life of LA from many different angles showing the movement of light through the day with the use of multiple motion control techniques creating organic almost dream like flow with no small thanks to a beautiful background track "Echoes of Mine" by M83 Enjoy!

Via SNAV: Tuff City NYC

I was walking around New York and I happened to see a Bode toy in this store so I had to go in to see if I could by it. I looked at the front of the building and realized that it was a tattoo shop, Tuff City tattoo shop. Last year I met up with Mr. Cartoon in the Bronx at another Tuff City spot.

Tuff City shops epitomize the East Coast. The live it so much that the inside of their store is designed like a New York Subway. I saw everything from subway seats, handles and they even have the doors.

I have been running into a lot of the greatest MCs of our time lately. I went downtown to the Highline Ballroom to see Idle Warship. Idle Warship is collaboration between Talib Kweli and Res. This is one of my favorite groups at this time. This group has there own sound that is very different from what’s out there at this time. The crowd was pumped up when they heard the music start.

Talib took the stage and was performing some of classics. I think Talib is one of the top 10 mc’s to ever touch a microphone. When Jay-Z says that he wish he could lyrically be Talib Kweli you know he is something special.

Xavier Veilhan at Richard Neutra's VDL House

"Architectones", an installation by French artist Xavier Veilhan opened last week at The Neutra VDL Research House . Veilhan has created a new body of work specifically for the Modernist house Richard Neutra designed for his family and architectural practice. The installation consisting of sculptures throughout the property that reflect the decades of the last century by focusing on the personal and professional history of Neutra, his times, and Veilhan’s interaction with the house. Most of the works are done in strict black fiberglass and fit in strangely organically in the furnishings of the house almost as they belong there. The exhibition is on view until September 19th and shouldn't be missed.

Balancing Elephant

Since 2008, French artist Daniel Firman has been exhibiting various versions of his installation piece named "Nasutamanus" all over the world. The sculpture depicts an elephant balancing on its trunk, sometimes suspended or even coming out from the wall or up from the floor. One quite impressive piece.

Photographer Janne Parviainen has been perfecting the art of light photography with this latest batch of his works. The creation process of these photos is quite difficult, it requires exposure times that can take over 30 minutes as the light carefully moves through the room with the source “tracing” every surface and object. Sneaker Pimps 2012 (Los Angeles)

Our friends over at Sneaker Pimps kicked off their tenth year of sneaker touring this weekend in Los Angeles. Footwear fanatics from all over the Golden State came to the Vanguard in Hollywood to check out SP's massive collection of kicks and art. Music also played a key role in the event, with XXL's 2012 Freshmen Hopsin and Iggy Azalea closing out the night with their sets. Check out the whole night after the jump!

The Camo Pack in Motion

We had a little fun with our Alcon and Ludlow Camo pack shoes and "cinemagraphed" them. If you don't know, the cinemagraph is a still photograph in which a minor and repeated movement occurs creating the illusion that you are watching a video. Life-Sized Wood Sculptures by Lee Stoetzel

Lee Stoetzel creates these amazing life-sized sculptures out of cypress wood. His works include such objects as Jeep, chopper, old mac computer, fixed gear bike, fast food meal and more. Each sculpture is highly detailed and very close to it's real world counterpart yet slightly stylized by the artist.

I got a call and received a special invite to come down to Brooklyn to witness a video shoot being directed by the greatest hip hop video director of all time. If that wasn’t enough there were four legends that were being shot for the video. There was a lot of big wheels in the video and there were also a lot of big wheels also outside. When you see the Maybach’s out front you know that its going to be crazy.
