Apt. 78 is located in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan and I headed out there for Pete Rock's set a few weeks ago. It was the kick off for their Summer Series which went down every week this month.

When I walked in Apt the spot really felt like one. There was some beautiful artwork on the walls, it reminded me of an old school house party. The crowd was proper and everyone was having a great time.

It was time for Pete Rock to go on the tables. From the moment that Pete drop the needle on the record the party was on. He dropped some of the classics you just don't hear anymore on the radio. Then the highlight of the night was Pete started rapping with some of his classic tracks that he produced.

The night was over and the party was one of the best that I have been to in years. We made our way to the kitchen and Datwon Thomas of Vibe Magazine was doing a interview with Mr. Rock. Be on the lookout for this interview soon on Vibe.com.
