Nail and Thread Portraits by Kumi Yamashita

New York artist Kumi Yamashita creates portraits using a single unbroken black thread wound through an array of strategically placed nails mounted on a white board, creating an illusion that the darker areas within the works are formed solely from the density of the string resulting in incredibly fascinating and almost photo realistic portraits
