Via Ako: Wugazi's "Sleep Rules Everything Around Me"

OTW Advocate Ako Jefferson has an affinity for mash ups. A few weeks ago he sent over the "James Drake" (Drake x James Blake mash) mixtape and today he sent over this track which combines Fugazi's "I'm So Tired" instrumentals with Wu-Tang's "C.R.E.A.M." flows. The result is something amazing, who knew vicious raps over a piano hook could be so moving yet soothing? Props to Cecil Otter and Swiss Andy for putting this one together.

"SLEEP" Live at The Wiltern June 26th

Legendary reunited "SLEEP" played a sold out show at The Wiltern this past Sunday night. 2.5 hours of pure stoner doom metal from the legends was truly a treat. "SLEEP" a three piece outfit pioneered the genre all the way back in the early 90's only to release 2 records officially, a couple of bootlegs and what became a legendary 1 Hour 15 minute long track "Dopesmoker" (after years of drama released in 2003) the band broke up in 1998 creating hope to reunite once again. ( do yourself a favor and watch the documentary about the band here ) LA's show opened with a shorter 25 minute version of "Dopesmoker" followed by pretty much every favorite track ever coupled with fantastic visuals. Check out videos and some pics from the show after the jump!

"Lonely in the Crowd" by Jan Huggenberg

"Lonely in the Crowd" is an interactive installation that encourages human interaction. While some might argue that technology has ruined our interpersonal skills, this design project by Jan Huggenberg aims to boost communication between strangers in an urban space. Users detected by the installation are represented by groups of creatures, so when more people are present more swarms are created. When users get closer to one another and make contact, the different swarms merge to form various patterns and designs based on the type of user interactions. This actually looks like a lot of fun! Check out the video for this one after the jump.

Good people from OH WOW gallery held a one night only opening event for Wes Lang's "Sittin' on a Rainbow" at Hollywood's landmark hotel Chateau Marmont. The festivities took place at one of the hotel's rooftop suites with Lang's artwork displayed around the room. Inspired by the history, virtue, and ambiance of the Chateau, and as a tribute to Martin Kippenberger’s “Hotel Drawings,” Lang created a suite of over 30 delicately involved works, each with the Chateau Marmont‘s classic logo visible, and some including small printed text, compliments of the Hotel: “In Residence: Mr. Wes Lang.” More images after the jump

Via SNAV: A Day With the Prince

SNAV caught up with DJ Prince Paul and his brother, Paul Jr. Wait, what? They're father and son, well they look like bros. Anyway, catch his full update after the J-U-M-P.
I had a chance to link up with Prince Paul and his son which is Paul Jr. I tell you when I see this hip hop legend and his son they look more like brothers LOL . I checked out their father and son DJ routine. Up first on the turntables was Prince Paul seeing the legend back in action was great. Then up next was Paul Jr His style was definitely cut from the cloth but he had his own swag .
This seemed like a Father’s Day DJ commercial. While the songs kept spinning, Paul Jr. was trying on these blue Pritchards that matched his shirt perfectly.
