Orisue's Earth Week

The guys over at streetwear label Orisue are launching a week long environmental campaign in honor of Earth Week. Each day of the week is dedicated to a different task - yesterday's (Monday, April 25) action was to recycle paper, plastic and metals, and today's (Tuesday, April 26) task is to donate/buy used clothing. The overall goal of the campaign is to reduce your carbon footprint and to develop green habits in your lifestyle. Participants can win prizes for their eco-friendly behavior. For Dutch Book Week, ad agency Van Wanten Etcetera authorized image company Souverein to create sculptural book "portraits" of famous biographies and the individuals they're about. Art In The Streets Opening at MOCA - Photo Recap

This past Thursday night was the artists' opening of the Art in the Streets exhibition at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Los Angeles. Mister Cartoon's ice cream truck and art were included in the show. It was a packed house - media, tastemakers and celebrities showed up for the opening and enjoyed the art by Fab 5 Freddy, Lee Quiñones, Futura, Margaret Kilgallen, Swoon, RISK, Shepard Fairey, John-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, JR and others, as well a live performance by the Cold Crush Brothers with Grandmaster Caz. Art in the Streets Exhibition at MOCA Featuring Mister Cartoon

After much anticipation, the Art in the Streets exhibition at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Los Angeles opens tonight! OTW's Atiba Jefferson doesn't just spin sets and shoot photos, the guy can shred too. Atiba and Nike skater Paul Rodriguez had a friendly first fakie hardflip showdown the other day. This week's collector,Tom T. aka Samcolt12, is a husband, father, construction company manager and member of the Heat Seekers sneakerhead collective out of Texas. I have never seen so many Vans in one place! I think Tom may have enough pairs to run a store out of his home. Liu Bolin aka the Invisible Man

While most artists use paint and canvas to complete their pieces, Chinese artist Liu Bolin uses paint and himself to complete his art. Japan Earthquake Relief Skratch Session BBQ at Acrylick

Who says Sunday is a day to rest and stay home? I got up and dropped by the Acrylick shop in Azusa for their Skratch Session BBQ. Clothing label/shop Acrylick partnered with DJ accessory manufacturer Odyssey for this session and invited local disc jockeys to come by, spin against one another and win prizes with donations from the event going to help those affected by the recent tragedies in Japan. The event was a lot of fun - good music, good crowd, good food, good cause - winning all around. Check out pictures from the session after the jump.

Skee.TV Catches up with Actor and Creators of How to Make It in America

Skee.TV/Karmaloop.TV caught up with pro skater/actor Javier Nunez, creators Ian Edelman and Eli Gesner from the HBO show, How to Make It in America, for this episode. If you're unfamiliar with the series, you should get acquainted with it before the season two debut. The plot centers around two friends - Ben Epstein (Bryan Greenberg) and Cam Calderon (Victor Rasuk) as they hustle through New York trying to establish their clothing line and "make it" as a business. Interesting factoid about Rasuk: he played Vans skate legend Tony Alva in Lords of Dogtown. The show has some serious star power with Kid Cudi, Shannyn Sossamon, Luis Guzman, Lake Bell and Eddie Kaye Thomas in reoccurring roles.

Special Delivery: In4mation x Vans OTW Bedford

When I got home last night, I was greeted by a UPS box addressed to me from In4mation. Along with the Bedfords,the In4mants hooked me up with one of our collaboration tees that dropped last year. I'm not a fan of white laces but luckily I had a pair of matching red laces around. To be completely honest, Crisone's collector profile inspired me to do the lace swap. I copped the last 10.5 from In4mation but there are still a few sizes available on their online shop. Mahalos In4mants, you made my week. What do you guys think about the lace swap? Too matchy-matchy or on point?

The Blackouts x Vans OTW Larkin Decon

Ako and Atiba teamed up with our design crew to "Blackout" our Larkins. The Blackouts deconstructed the Larkin by removing all padding to refine the silhouette, applied premium black materials to upgrade the uppers and added their logo to the soles to complete their signature shoe.
