The Nujabes Documentary: An Eternal Soul

February 27, 2010 was a sad day for music because it was the day Japanese hip hop producer/DJ Nujabes died. Nujabes collaborated with Japanese acts such as Shing02 and Uyama Hiroto as well as American underground hip hop artists Substantial, Apani B, CL Smooth, CYNE and others. Nujabes blended hip hop beats with jazz vibes and paired them with articulate hip hop lyricism at its best. The Nujabes Documentary: An Eternal Soul is a tribute to the life of Seba Jun (Nujabes' real name) and chronicles his contributions to the world of music.

Abe Spiegel directed the film and screened a rough cut this past Sunday at SXSW. Take a look at the trailer for the film. Personally, I can't wait to see this one in person.
